Born and raised in Petersburg, West Virginia. I began my journey at 14 years old making YouTube videos and learning video editing for fun.

At 20 years old I got into landscape photography and then later moved into professional portrait photography.

Once I finally landed my first wedding videography job, I couldn’t help but keep going after seeing clients so thrilled with my work. Since then I have attained over 5 years of full-time wedding videography experience. My equipment and skills have grown alongside me through many revisions to provide the best quality wedding films possible while remaining efficient for fast paced shooting scenarios.

Speaking of revisions, check out this photo of me from a time I thought it was a good idea to run a cinema rig on a huge gimbal which weighed around 18lbs. Not surprisingly, this caused severe wrist pain by the end of the day.

My solution at the time was to use a huge heavy vest and stabilizer system to take the weight off my wrists. Looking back, I just didn’t understand the difference between full movie production and wedding films. I wanted the best quality possible, but I was causing a lot of downsides at the same time.

Weddings are often fast-paced productions and they require capturing things quickly and spontaneously. So, I eventually figured it all out, somehow without sacrificing that quality I was looking for — actually, the quality improved even further. It wasn’t the oversized equipment, but the actual lighting, storytelling, and never missing a moment that made the better wedding film.

I am now 28 and have my own wedding videography business, Illuminance Wedding Films. I film all over the east coast as lead shooter for other top wedding video businesses owners and it’s exponentially growing day by day.
